General Comments:
We are looking for an PR and Events intern who seeks a challenging position in the location above for market development and sales growth in specified markets. As a PR and Events manager you will report directly to the managing director. The role of the PR and Events Manager is to build and grow Eyes on China business volume and market recognition through the organization of industry events. The role requires solid organization, sales, communication, account management, marketing and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizing and managing public relations and events activities for the business and advisory services of Eyes on China.
- Coming up with original ideas for events.
- Be responsible for the constant update of the events and public relations activities on our website portal.
- Inviting audience, VIPs, speakers and other interesting guests.
- Researching venues, contacts and suppliers.
- Negotiating prices with suppliers and contractors.
- Booking venues, entertainment and any necessary equipment and supplies.
- Hiring and supervising contractors such as caterers and security.
- Marketing and publicising the event.
- Making sure that everything runs smoothly on the day.
- Develop relationships with media in order to have exposure for the events and public relations activities.
- Ensuring excellent customer relations.
You might be specialised in organising a particular type of event, such as panel discussion, lectures, conference, advertising service launches.
Requirements
- No restrictive or enforceable employment contract and non-compete agreement.
- Active learner.
- Education background: bachelor's or master's degree in public relations or journalism.
- Having followed courses in advertising, business administration, public affairs, political science, or creative and technical writing are considered an advantage.
- Excellent and verifiable work record with performance-based credentials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Chinese proficiency.
Experience
- Proven event management and public relations skills in the business and advisory services industry.
- Possess strong analytical and communication skills, with a combination of high energy, self-confidence and interpersonal skills.
- Effective presentation and project management skills.
- Sociable and presentable.
Remuneration
A monthly net (tax-free) remuneration plus benefits dependent on qualifications and experience.
Extra
The ideal candidate could be a Chinese speaking foreigner, an American Born Chinese, a European Born Chinese or a mainland Chinese who has spent several years overseas.
